How to Use Your Mind to Become Superhuman

Screen Shot 2015-09-10 at 9.07.18 PMYesterday, I watched a documentary on “the Iceman”, this strange/fascinating 50 year old Dutch man who defies what we think we know about physiology.

The man, Wim Hof, holds 20 Guiness records and has defied science by being able to be submerge for almost 2 hours in ice, WITHOUT change to his body temperature.

I am VERY intrigued. He and his students have done numerous tests with scientists/doctors and seems it checks out.

Meditation/breathing techniques are what seem to be key to power, health and happiness says Hof.

From a Sense of Purpose

One of the interesting elements of the story is HOW he devised the “Wim Hof Technique”. His wife was mentally ill and eventually killed herself. This was the beginning of Hof’s quest, trying to make sense of it. He said he regained his power, through breathing and through his unusual techniques.

He’s not on a quest to teach everyone how to regain our power, and use our mind/bodies to the fullest.

Fascinating stuff. Anyone interested in trying it out? I sure am.

  1. Wooow. That’s fascinating! It’s a good example to put things in perspective. It helps realize that we really do have control over our own lives.
