How To Add 10+ to Your Life

Age is mind over matter. If you don’t mind then it don’t matter – Satchel Paige Click bait title, I know. But read on! Is Retirement is A “Number” We Make Up? So I recently listened to one of my fave podcasts “Exponential thinking”. http://podcast.diamandis.com Hosts Dan and Peter  talk about how all of us have a “number” in our head that we (un)consciously think we’ll die at.  I’m paraphrasing the process Dan Sullivan uses to unlock 10+ extra years: First: ask yourself “What age do you think you’re going to die? “ Answer for yourself. Let’s say the answer is … Continue reading How To Add 10+ to Your Life

Canada C3 – Overview of an epic expedition

Canada C3 – Overview of an epic expedition For those who don’t know, I’m off on an epic sailing/learning adventure up above the Arctic Circle, around the Coast of Alaska called Canada C3. This blog post is to give a bit more context on what I’m doing! What is Canada C3? The Canada C3 project (www.canadac3.ca) is a Canada 150 initiative. It has a ship called the “Polar Prince”. It consists of a 150-day sailing voyage around Canada from Toronto to Victoria, through the Canadian North. The journey is divided into 15 legs, and each leg has different participants. How to reduce your voicemails to (almost) zero

This is a blog in a continuing series of posts to find ways to simplify, improve and streamline your life. We live in a world where we are bombarded by communications/messages/notifications.  In this day and age, the voicemail is one of the least efficient, and probably most annoying ways of communicating (I would argue outdated). There are so many steps: click the notification, wait for the thing, press the one, wait for the message, listen to it, press 7, wait for the thing, etc. etc. and on it goes. Today's post will share my experiment in reducing voice mail down to … Continue reading How to reduce your voicemails to (almost) zero

How to Overcome Sugar Addiction and Have a Healthy Relationship to Sugar – #NoSugarStrong

Hey everyone! I want to share a personal win, because I’m really excited about this. My name is Mathieu, and I’m a sugarholic. Most of us are. There are tons of stories out there of our overconsumption of sugar, the addiction that we have to sugar, including this particular article that postulates that sugar can be more addictive than cocaine! That being said, my friend Shannon Courtney and I decided : a better relationship is possible! We both chose a lifestyle and a relationship with sugar that is more balanced, healthier and that is overall preferable. We wanted to make a … Continue reading How to Overcome Sugar Addiction and Have a Healthy Relationship to Sugar – #NoSugarStrong

A Quick Shortcut to Eat More Veggies and Eat Less Junkfood

We always hear it. The way to health goes through veggies! I struggle to eat my fair share of veggies. One of the main reasons being that when I want to snack, I use the “path of less resistance”, which means cookies, toast + peanut butter, chips, even fruit, or whatever tasty snack is available to me! So my question was: How can I make it easy on myself to eat veggies? The answer: make it accessible and easy! You’ll find pictures of my system. I have a tray of veggies with hummus (and some nuts), as to have healthy … Continue reading A Quick Shortcut to Eat More Veggies and Eat Less Junkfood

How to Use Your Mind to Become Superhuman

Yesterday, I watched a documentary on “the Iceman”, this strange/fascinating 50 year old Dutch man who defies what we think we know about physiology.  The man, Wim Hof, holds 20 Guiness records and has defied science by being able to be submerge for almost 2 hours in ice, WITHOUT change to his body temperature. I am VERY intrigued. He and his students have done numerous tests with scientists/doctors and seems it checks out. Meditation/breathing techniques are what seem to be key to power, health and happiness says Hof. From a Sense of Purpose One of the interesting elements of the story … Continue reading How to Use Your Mind to Become Superhuman

My Experience with a Productivity Coach and the Difference Between What’s “URGENT” and What’s Truly “Important”

Over the past 3 and 1/2 years, I’ve embarked on a journey to “carve my own path”. I left the 9-to-5 lifestyle, and became an entrepeneur. I had several reasons: Freedom: I wanted to be free to choose my own schedule, my own vacation time and ultimately, I wanted to have control over my own life, and what I do with it (and, for instance, not work an arbitrary amount of hours a week). Fulfillment: I wanted to work in what I believed in. My work experiences in the past have been great, but often, I would end up doing certain tasks that … Continue reading My Experience with a Productivity Coach and the Difference Between What’s “URGENT” and What’s Truly “Important”

Financial Management Scary? Naaa! Not If Know Grade 2 Arithmetics!

How to Eat Healthier, Save Time and Save Money

For some reason, I’m always looking for ways to save time and be more efficient. I also am very fond of saving money and I have a life goal of living till 117 years old, and therefore want to be as healthy as possible. So, I found myself losing a lot of time and energy thinking about food: what to get? what to make? when? I would spend lots of time thinking about it, and no time actually making food, let alone getting the ingredients for it. I also knew that I had “good recipes” except I couldn’t think about … Continue reading How to Eat Healthier, Save Time and Save Money
